How to Remove Image Background Using Photopea

What is Photopea?

Photopea.com is an online photo editing software that you can use to edit images, create illustrations, do graphic designs and web designs. It can work with raster and vector images and can be used to convert an image format to another image format.

In the Print-on-Demand business, it is important that artworks have a transparent background to create a clean print on a product without the annoying and unnecessary parts of the photo behind the artwork or customized photos.

Here is the step by step guide on how to remove the photo background using Photopea:

Step 1: Open Photopea.com

Step 2: Drag and Drop your image on the Photopea tab

Step 3: Select the Pen Tool

Step 4: Put the anchor points around the image. You can click and drag to create a curved shape. Make sure that the fill is set to none

Step 5: Change Shape to Path

Step 6: Click Make a selection and choose the first option which is Replace

Step 7: Click Ctrl + J (Cmd + J for mac) on the original image layer to duplicate the selection. Click the eye icon to hide the original image

Now that you have the step by step guide, you will be able to use this to prepare your designs for your AOP+ listings on Shopify or Etsy. Just make sure that the artwork has the minimum artwork size requirement that you will be able to see on the AOP+ app.
